Hibernian Heritage
To have membership in the Ancient Order of Hibernians, you need only to be Irish, a practicing Catholic and file the necessary application. This admits you to meetings, an occasional party and a share in the division's charity works.

To be a "Hibernian", however, is something quite different. It is to join with your fellow Hibernians in a bond welded in the fire of the Irish-Catholic history. As Irishmen, our forefathers felt the tyranny of a foreign oppressor; as Catholics, under the same tyranny, our forefathers hid their priests in haystacks at the penalty of their lives.

We are the descendants of this unique history and the inheritors of its significance. As such, we cherish our origin and revere our church. More than that, as Hibernians, we clasp hands in staunch friendship and rally to help each other as our fathers did and their fathers before them.

This is our Hibernian Heritage!
